This post is a little different from our usual business-related posts.
Today, we decided to stop serving Google Ads on our website. There are a couple of reasons we arrived on this decision:
Reason 1: We feel bad serving you these ads.
Serving these ads felt like a disservice to our readers who want to see the content we produce. And I think you deserve to be NOT barraged by ads every time you click on a page.
Reason 2: It’s not even a lot of money
The Philippine market is no “tier 1” country status with Google Adsense. This means that if you have a website with a 97% Filipino audience, you’re not going to make a lot.
We weighed the revenue we get from Google Adsense to it’s impact in user experience and satisfaction and we arrived in the conclusion that it’s not worth running the ads anymore.
How Will We Monetize The Website?
While Trailblazer.com.ph is a passion project, it’s still a business at the end of the day.
This website won’t be earning money in the meantime and will be sustained by other projects, like our SEO training course or our owner’s marketing agency.
However, we do plan to monetize this with more savory ads in the near future. For example, sponsorship ads that are relevant to our topics or we can even sell digital products! Our promise however, is that these ads won’t be intrusive nor annoying!
But for now, please enjoy the ad-free experience.
